MetroList Supra iBox Information

The MetroList MLS Rules require that a MetroList Supra iBox be used for access control to all properties listed with the MetroList MLS when the purpose for placing a lockbox on the property is to provide access to the property to other Participants and Subscribers of MetroList.

The MetroList Board of Directors and the MLS Committee are committed to enforcing all MLS Rules. Accordingly, the MetroList staff has been directed to conduct an educational campaign and stepped up enforcement of the MLS Rules related to the use of lockboxes.

MetroList Supra iBox
The MetroList Supra iBox System was selected by the MetroList Board of Directors to ensure all MetroList Participants and Subscribers have equal access to showing listed properties. With its rich and powerful features, the MetroList Supra iBox is a tried and proven tool in providing controlled access to listed properties.

Tips for Managing Your MetroList Supra iBoxes
When purchasing your MetroList Supra iBoxes be sure to keep records of all your serial numbers and shackle codes. You will need these numbers to track your lockbox inventory, generate showing activity reports and in assigning an iBox to your listing.

Link Your MetroList Supra iBox to Your listing!
By linking your MetroList Supra iBox to your listing you will receive updated showing reports and have the ability to customize and email these reports to your clients. Simply log onto KIMweb and enter the required information or click on Assign Supra KeyBox link located at the bottom of each of your listings in Prospector.

MLS Lockbox Rules – Summary of Section 13.12 Exclusive Provider and Exclusive Use
1. Participants and Subscribers shall limit their use of any multiple listing access lockbox or entry card system in the geographical area served by the MetroList MLS, to the MetroList Supra iBox System.

2. All properties listed with the MetroList MLS that use a lockbox for access to the listing by Participants and Subscribers shall so indicate in the MLS listing information.

3. There shall be automatic fine(s) for indicating that the listing has a lockbox if the lockbox is not a MetroList Supra iBox.

Lockbox Violation Penalties
First Offense
$100 + purchase of MetroList Supra iBox and assign to listing.

Second Offense
$250 + purchase of MetroList Supra iBox and assign to listing.

Third Offense
$500 + purchase of MetroList Supra iBox, assign to listing and mandatory Tribunal Hearing. MLS Tribunal Hearing panels have additional authority and can levy fines up to $15,000.

Report A Possible Violation
If you suspect a listing to be in violation of the MLS lockbox policy and can answer Yes to any of the validation questions below, please notify the MetroList Compliance Department Immediately:

• Did the Listing Office provide a combination code for access?
• When shown did you only find a combination lockbox on the property? No other lockbox present?
• Did the Listing Office direct you to a combination lockbox?
• Was there an error in the Showing Instructions?
• Other information leading you to believe that subscriber access to the listing is being controlled via a combination lockbox?
• If you went to a property and only found a combination box, did you call the Listing Office to confirm that is the only box available?

To report a possible violation, simply log onto the Prospector system, go to the listing that you suspect of a possible violation and click on the Report Listing Violation link. Complete the form and press the submit button.
